Coach Amber, a Memphis native, is a highly experienced athlete with over 15 years of track experience. She is passionate about guiding young athletes towards success and is committed to excellence and talent development.
As the founder of Southern Speed Youth track organization in Nashville, she shapes the future of track and field through mentorship and empowerment, one athlete at a time.
In her role as a Physical Education (PhysEd) teacher and coach, she emphasizes the importance of living an active and healthy lifestyle. She also instills core values and principles that players can carry with them on and off the field, leading by example.

Coach O, a native of Nashville, TN, has an impressive background in sports and coaching. As an alumnus of Pearl Cohn High School (Class of 2008) and Bethel University (Class of 2013), Coach O’s passion for sports and teamwork has been a constant force in his life.
Throughout his college years, Coach O was an active member of various sports teams, participating in football, basketball, and track. His dedication and commitment to these teams allowed him to understand the importance of hard work, patience, and perseverance – qualities that would later become the foundation of his coaching philosophy.
Upon graduating from Bethel University, Coach O decided to channel his love for sports and his extensive experience in team dynamics into coaching track & field. He recognized that his own athletic journey could serve as a valuable resource for nurturing and guiding the next generation of athletes.
Coach O’s approach to coaching is centered on fostering an environment that encourages growth, discipline, and a strong work ethic. By emphasizing the significance of teamwork and camaraderie, he strives to create a supportive atmosphere where athletes can develop their skills and reach their full potential.

Coach Burton, a native of Nashville, TN, married for 10 years and is a mother of two girls (ages 14 and 5) and one boy (age 10). Coach Dominique holds a Master's degree in Public Health and is currently working on a Doctorate in Education.
With over 15 years of experience in athletics, her background includes cheerleading, basketball, track & field, and volleyball. She competed in cheerleading at the college level as a TSU junior and as a walk-on in volleyball at TSU.
She has coaching experience in cheerleading (2 years), track & field (2 years), and volleyball (5 years), with coaching styles ranging from metro camps to middle school and high school levels. Specializing in shot put and discus in track & field, she focuses on various explosive exercises, distance training, strength development, and technique refinement.
This track & field season, she is dedicated to connecting with the athletes, teaching, enhancing their performance, and motivating them to become the best athletes they can be.

Coach Jefferson, a native of Memphis, TN, is a dedicated track coach committed to helping youth achieve their highest potential in the sport. He earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from Tennessee State University and went on to complete a doctorate in clinical psychology at Grand Canyon University. Currently, Coach Jefferson serves as a clinical therapist at Vanderbilt Behavioral Health, where he applies his expertise in psychology to support individuals on their mental health journey.
Coach Jefferson's track journey began at Treadwell Middle School, where he excelled as a member of the 4x100 relay team that reached the state finals. At Memphis East High School from 2008 to 2010, he showcased his talent as a 4A state finalist in the 200m and long jump events. Continuing his athletic career, Coach Jefferson competed for the Tennessee State University men's track team from 2010 to 2013.
With six years of coaching experience, Coach Jefferson has worked with youth athletes in the 200m, 100m, and long jump disciplines. He is dedicated to helping young athletes reach their full potential in track and field by emphasizing the importance of mastering fundamentals and techniques.
